Easy Breezy Tutorial – Satin Applique
Tutorial Time… What is satin applique and how do you stitch it? Stitching satin appliques is really simple. The design files can vary by digitizer but I try to be consistent on ours. Occasionally I will move a detail to the beginning of a design but normally I place fabrics first. It allows me to move on to other fabric prep, hooping, running another machine, etc in that stretch of time I get for the rest of that design’s stitching. It’s Face Time…
It’s Face Time! No, not that kind of face time… I’m talking about the open face designs in the shop. I’ve enjoyed working on the different little faces for a bit, and I’m sure I’ll be adding more in whenever I can… Actually, I know that I have a few on the design table that I haven’t had a chance to wrap up! Sketch It Up… Embroidery Style
Sketch embroidery is pretty popular right now. It’s a good way to give a bigger impact embroidery piece with a lower stitch count than you’d get on standard embroidery or applique. There are currently some cute designs and fonts in the shop and I’m making an effort to include some new ones each month. Princess Life…
With three granddaughters princesses are a must around here. Like most of our designs I encourage you to switch things up and use your imagination. A lot of these can be changed in coloring and fabrics to fit a multitude of popular princesses. For example, check out our Viking inspired princess, Princess 8. We stitched her in a red dress with black hair instead of the normal green with red hair. Now she looks a lot like a Spanish princess instead. Clearing Off My Work Space…
Life is pretty crazy here this year with a busy first quarter followed by lots of family obligations, celebrations and travel. I was running everywhere. I made it home again and have been here for almost two weeks! My current list of commitments is small for another week or so. So guess what I’ve been up to… I’m clearing my work space so you’re getting new designs!! I know, it’s about time, right? I finalized several of my in process designs from various themes. Hey to all! I have a ton of things happening outside of work right now, so it may look like the shop is slowing down a bit on the digitizing front. We’re saying goodbye to 2018 with a new year quickly approaching… Hello to 2019! It’s a time for continuing with the good things, new beginnings, second chances, and your next adventures. I’m not big on yearly resolutions but I do try to re-evaluate my goals throughout the year and work on making changes where I can.
